3 JUTRAS FOR COOP VIDÉO

March 17, 2013. Over My Dead Body won the Jutra for best feature-length documentary, while Camion took the awards for best actor and best original music. The film was nominated for seven Jutras, including best film and best director.


BOOK LAUNCH: CHRONIQUEUR D'UNE VIE QUOTIDIENNE OU LA PETITE MUSIQUE DE JACQUES LEDUC

March 2013. As part of its 35th anniversary celebrations, Coop Vidéo and its members decided to express their deep admiration for filmmaker Jacques Leduc and his works. A book edited by Georges Privet was launched on March 1 in the Foyer Luce Guilbeault at the Cinémathèque québécoise. Copies are available for $20, tax included. Contact info@coopvideo.ca to order.


DVD RELEASE: CARNETS D'UN
GRAND DÉTOUR

March 2013. The RIDM’s best Canadian feature documentary in 2011, Carnets d'un grand détour by Catherine Hébert is now available from DVD rental services. Extras are available online at www.carnetsdungranddetour.com.


THE COOP STAYS UP FOR NUIT BLANCHE

March 2013. In partnership with the Maison de la culture in the borough of Plateau-Mont-Royal, Coop Vidéo wrapped up its 35th anniversary celebrations with a special Nuit Blanche event on Saturday, March 2. The evening kicked off a month of retrospectives dedicated to landmark works and amazing short films, every Saturday in March.


PRIX COLLÉGIAL DU CINÉMA QUÉBÉCOIS

March 26, 2013. Camion and Over My Dead Body were among the five nominees for the Prix collégial du cinéma québécois, voted on by college students from 30 cégeps across Quebec. The nominees were selected by a committee of film experts: Manon Dumais, Mario Fortin, François Lévesque, Pierre Pageau and Dominique Dugas.


AQCC AWARD

March 3, 2013. Over My Dead Body by Brigitte Poupart and Camion by Rafaël Ouellet were nominated for the Prix de L'Association québécoise de la critique de cinéma.


COUP DE COEUR COOP VIDÉO AWARD

March 3, 2013. During the 31st Rendez-vous du cinéma québécois, Coop Vidéo presented its Coup de coeur award and its $1,000 prize to François Jaros for his short film, Daytona. The jury – Louis Bélanger, Luc Vandal and Virginie Dubois – cited the film for its excellent direction.


CALQ AWARD

November 2012. Brigitte Poupart received the Prix de la création artistique presented by the Conseil des arts des lettres du Québec for Over My Dead Body.
